The organization responsable for Escola de Música da Rocinha is the Associação Cultural Professor Hans Ulrich Koch. It was made in 1996 by Hans with the parents of the students, our students and teachers.
Our main objective it is to stimulate the human and social capital of the communities that has low IDH, providing the possibilitie to the study of artistics languages, especially music, that has a huge power of transformation and social inclusion; and develop education proccess and management for socialculture projects, withaview replicate that story.
Beyonds Rocinha, the Association support the criation of other schools of music, similar to the one in Santa Marta(Community of Botafogo), in Tanguá(collaboration with the ONG AIDA) and in Morro da Conçeição.
